Peter Stoll, M.S., CCC-SLP received his Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Long Island University–Brooklyn. He is a Maryland State-Licensed Speech Language Pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Peter has worked in evaluating and treating clients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders in both pediatric and adult settings, which includes adults with cognitive linguistic disorders and children/adults with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injuries). He has extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of speech sound disorders (phonology and articulation) and language disorders, particularly expressive and pragmatic language skills in clients. Further, Peter has a strong interest in using music as a tool for applicable clients to build upon their language skills having co-developed, with Anat Sohn, a unique program called Melodic Connections © that targets speech-language objectives through melodic and rhythmic arrangements. Peter considers the most effective approach in helping clients to improve their speech and language skills – in turn, working towards improving their quality of life through communication – is therapy tailored to the individual’s interests and functional needs. Peter is certified to provide Interactive Metronome Training, where he integrates this technology into his sessions when appropriate, to address communication and cognitive goals. Peter is also a songwriter and musician and resides in Rockville, MD with his wife, son and dog.
